Pass-A-Grille, a truly special place to make your own

    Explore

Think miles of beach, powdery sand and stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. At the southernmost point of the beach, fisherman hang their poles over the pier. Along the shore, sea shell enthusiasts comb the sand for some of the most unique and exquisite shells in the area. At dusk, watch the pinkish orb of the sun sink into the water.

Activities

Pass-A-Grille has a long and fascinating history. The Tocobagas came to the area from 1,000 – 1,700 AD, and it was first visited by Europeans in 1528. There is a rich recent history as well- you can still sit in authentic Old Florida restaurants or fish from historic Merry Pier. If you’d like to learn more about it during your stay, the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum is close to Inn on the Beach, and admission is free!

There is no doubt about it. St Pete Beach weather is some of the best and most reliable anywhere in America. We estimate that the sun shines about 360 days a year on average, so it’s very unlikely that your stay will be interrupted by even a single rainy day.

In winter

Temperatures are good all year round. January is the coldest month, but even then the average day gets up to about 69°. That’s definitely t-shirt weather, and warm enough for a quick dip too. The water in the Gulf is always pretty warm, even in winter.  That means you can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, and other watersports all year round without a shiver. Just don’t forget to bring your sunscreen!

In summer

In the warmer months daytime temperatures get to about 90° on an average day. That’s beautifully warm. In this kind of heat a sea breeze is welcome but it rarely gets too hot and sticky in Pass-A-Grille. If it’s a warm day and the breeze isn’t blowing, there is always a gourmet icecream waiting for you at Paradise Sweets on 8th Avenue, or you can cool off in the sea.

St Petersburg weather brings other benefits. There is a beautiful, unspoiled sunset almost every day. In the coldest months you might need a sweater to walk along the beach and enjoy it but that’s all.
